FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(FAQs)
Q: Are you close to Short Hills and Millburn?
A: Yes. If you’re looking for Short Hills NJ hotels or a B&B the DeBary Inn gives you by far the closest and easiest lodging for getting to the residential areas of Shorts Hills as well as Millburn (Short Hills is part of Millburn). It’s an easy drive; Take one turn, go .8 miles, and you’re in the Short Hills residential area. There’s no highway driving. Here’s a map showing how close the DeBary is:

Q: Can I readily walk between the train station and the Inn?
A: Yes. It’s a pleasant, level walk along tree shaded streets
with sidewalks the whole way. Most of the walk is through charming,
and thoroughly safe, downtown Summit.
Q: How do the shared bathrooms work?
A: Bring your towel, soaps, etc. (individually provided in your room)
with you to the bathroom. Lock the bathroom door while in use. When
you leave bring everything – including your towel – back
to your room.
Bathrobes are provided in each closet. Also note: all shared bathrooms
have just one entrance from the hallway (not through an adjoining room).
As for capacity, our experience is that guests have not had any significant
waits for a shared bathroom. In total, we have 3 ½ shared baths
(2 on the 2nd floor, 1 on the 3rd floor, and a half bath on the 1st
floor). Three of the guest rooms have their own en-suite private bath.
Also, five other rooms have a sink in the room which further reduces
shared bathroom time usage.
Q: Will I be put into a forced socialization situation?
A: No. Our setup lets you choose. The main case-in-point is breakfast.
Our spacious breakfast room has a large group table (where you can easily
join in on conversation) AND a number of two-seat tables (for a more
private breakfast). Guests enjoy both. A 3rd option – highly recommended
– is breakfast on the porch in nice weather. A 4th option is taking
a breakfast to go. Also, the innkeepers don’t sit down with you
at breakfast. It’s our pleasure to serve you.
